We have recently purchased an eco-toilet from WooWoo Waterless Toilets UK and it’s on its way to be delivered and installed. We are so excited! This means our beneficiaries and visitors can spend time on our urban farm without a problem, knowing we have provided for their comfort.
We are giving some areas of our urban farm a makeover. This is going to be done by a local artist Fiona Caley, and we are currently looking for paint donations. If you have any paint, any colour, that you no longer need, please consider donating it to us. The colour we need most of is green, nature’s backdrop to the amazing variety of colour she provides for us to enjoy.
The market stall, situated by our main gate, is a new venture from Rooted in Hull! Currently, we are selling herbs, veg plants and planters. The first indications are that there is a need for locally produced veg and salad plants for growing on at home. This has had a positive effect on our volunteers, who are involved in nurturing all the greenery, from growing seedlings to propagating plants, plus they are creating planters from recycled timber.
Think Tank group
In February, before the lockdown, we held an activity-based workshop where we worked together to produce some great ideas for our urban farm. The document below is an illustration of our objectives. This document will be regularly updated and turned green once we have completed them or turned them into reality.
